Applications for Abraji and Talanoa’s reporting grants remain open until Sunday

Applications for the second phase of the reporting grants offered through the project “A today and a tomorrow with climate adaptation”, organized by Abraji and the Talanoa Institute, remain open until this Sunday, December 7.

The program aims to encourage global and in-depth coverage on climate adaptation, reinforcing the importance of analysing how countries and territories are responding to the effects of climate change — a key topic discussed during COP30 negotiations.

Six fellowships still available

Following the first stage, in which three journalists were selected — Cecília do Lago (Brazil), Cheena Kapoor (India) and Mannan Samad (Pakistan) —, the initiative now offers:

  • R$ 5,500 for stories produced in Brazil
  • US$ 1,000 for international reporting

Selected proposals must result in published stories by February 2026. Journalists based in Brazil, Asia and Europe are eligible and may submit proposals in either Portuguese or English.

Final deadline

With the application period closing on this Sunday, Abraji and the Talanoa Institute emphasize that this is an important opportunity for journalists to develop deep investigations into the real effects of COP30 negotiations.
