Abraji and the Talanoa Institute extend deadline for applications for reporting grants

Abraji and the Talanoa Institute have extended the application deadline for reporting grants under the project “A today and a tomorrow with climate adaptation” until Friday, November 7. The initiative aims to encourage in-depth journalistic coverage of climate adaptation across different contexts and regions of the world.

The program offers nine reporting grants, valued at R$ 5,500 for stories produced in Brazil and US$1,000 for international reports. Applications are open to journalists from Brazil, Asia and Europe, and may be submitted in English or Portuguese.

Check out the training courses available in Portuguese and English.

The grants are divided into two stages:

Stage 1 - open until November 7: for journalists who will be in Belém during COP30 with stories to be published during the conference.

Stage 2 - open until December 7: for reports focused on the outcomes of the negotiations and their impact on national and local policies, with publication deadlines set for February 2026.
