Abraji and the Talanoa Institute announce recipients of climate adaptation reporting grants
Abraji and the Talanoa Institute announced on Tuesday, November 11, the names of the three journalists who will each receive a reporting grant of R$ 5,500 or US$ 1,000 to produce in-depth stories during the coverage of COP30, in Belém, focusing on climate adaptation. The selected journalists are Cecília do Lago (Brazil), Cheena Kapoor (India), and Mannan Samad (Pakistan).
The grant program is part of the “A today and a tomorrow with climate adaptation” project, designed to encourage quality journalism on climate adaptation — one of the central themes on the COP30 agenda. The initiative offers a total of nine reporting grants.
In this first phase, three proposals were selected for production during COP30. The second phase will offer six additional grants.
Applications for the second phase are open until December 7, 2025. Six reporting grants will be given for coverage and publications until the end of 2026, regarding the impacts of COP30’s adaptation agenda and how they are connected to national and local policies in the fellows’ respective countries.
